Rubber Stops

Use our CLEAR Round Self Adhesive Rubber Stops on your Furniture Protector for a more secure finish or if you are concerned about possible slippage. Our packs contain 20 Rubber Stops.

The Rubber Stops are approximately 11mm x 2mm in size and made of clear polyurethane coated with a powerful pressure sensitive adhesive to the back.
In practice we have found that using a pad approximately every 300mm to 500mm is extremely effective in stopping the furniture protector from moving about when in use.

Clear Polycarbonate Cut to Size

If you’re looking to order a clear polycarbonate sheet cut to size – look no further than The Plastic People.

With us, it’s easy to order the exact amount of clear polycarbonate material you need to make your next project a reality.

Simply enter your measurements into the calculator above to get a free quote for your bespoke polycarbonate order.

What are The Benefits of Ordering a Polycarbonate Sheet Cut to Size?

Polycarbonate is one of the toughest plastics you can buy, and has a well-deserved reputation for its high impact resistance. This makes it perfect for applications where safety is paramount.

The weather resistance of Polycarbonate sheets makes them just as ideal for use outdoors as indoors.

Clear polycarbonate also benefits from all the transparency of glass – providing light transmission up to 90%.

Polycarbonate has a great fire performance of up to Class 1, which is significantly better in comparison to acrylic.

It’s half the weight and around 250 x stronger.

These qualities make it a highly suitable material for both DIY and professional applications, and with polycarbonate cut to size to the right measurements – you have a successful solution for:
  • Replacing any glass that has been broken in the home or work.
  • Replacing broken greenhouse and cold frame glass (polycarbonate offers good UV protection – so your plants, or any other items susceptible to UV damage are well guarded in this case).
  • Making vulnerable windows or doors secure.
  • Secondary glazing.
  • Polycarbonate can also be used for summerhouse windows and panels for decking balustrades.
At The Plastic People – not only can we supply clear polycarbonate cut to the size or shape you need, our polycarbonate sheets also come with a 10-year guarantee against yellowing, ageing and hailstones. So our polycarbonate sheets are as ideal for outdoor use as they are for indoor use.

Ordering Polycarbonate Cut to Size

First and foremost, to get an idea of how much your order is going to cost – take some accurate measurements and enter them into the quote calculator above.

You can choose which metric you prefer – whether this is millimetres, centimetres or inches.

On top of this, you can also add additional extras to your order if needed. This includes rubber stops, any holes that need to be drilled, cut outs, screws, screw covers and rounded corners.

You can click the icon next to each option to get more detail about what we provide for each and how they may be of benefit.

However, if you feel a drawing would articulate your exact requirements more effectively – feel free to email us an image.

Ordering Polycarbonate Cut to Shape

You can also order clear polycarbonate sheets cut to shape with us.

The same principles apply in order to get a quote – only this time, you can decide between 6 different shapes, including:
  • T-Shape
  • L-Shape
  • Triangle
  • Semi-Circle
  • Circle
  • Oval
However, if you have another, different shape in mind – you can send us an email to get a quote.

For the straight-sided shapes, simply enter the length and width you need for each side. For the circular shapes however, you’ll need to know the required diameter – so it’s important to have this information written down before you start the process, just to ensure you get the correct the order.

Again, you can add all the same optional extras to your order if you wish.

Delivery Options

There are a number of delivery options you can choose before your order is dispatched. The main ones are:
  • Standard delivery (unless you choose one of the other two options, your delivery will be dispatched through this service).
  • Next day delivery (if you want your order to arrive the next day, you’ll need to ensure it’s placed before 1pm on the day you go through the checkout).
  • Named day delivery (if you have a particular day in mind where you want to be at home for when your order arrives – this is probably the best option).

If you have any other special requirements, you can let us know in the comments box as you checkout.

That's it. If you'd like to speak with our friendly team before completing a purchase, they can be reached on 0113 249 2222.

Until then, if we have any questions of our own about your order, or delivery requirements – we’ll be in touch.

Can polycarbonate be used for glazing ?
Polycarbonate panes offer excellent clarity with the highest impact strength of any transparent glazing product.  Compared to acrylic panes of the same thickness and size it is around 30 times stronger; compared to equivalent glass panes it is over 250 times stronger.  This makes polycarbonate an excellent choice for glazing where security is key.
Does polycarbonate have a fire rating ?
Polycarbonate is Class 1 fire rated. This means it will extinguish itself.
How durable is polycarbonate ?

As polycarbonate is so strong, you can be confident you'll not need to replace the panels anytime soon. The material is also ideal for making cold frames and cloches, as well as replacing glass to make vulnerable doors and windows more secure.

How should polycarbonate be cleaned ?
We recommend using only warm soapy water with a soft, non-abrasive cotton cloth. Alteranatively you can use the polycarbonate cleaning products which are available here.  Do not use any chemicals as this will damage the polycarbonate
How thick is polycarbonate ?
We offer polycarbonate on our site in thicknesses ranging from 2mm to 12mm.
Please call us on 0113 249 2222 if you require thicker gauges.
What effect does UV have on polycarbonate ?
Solar radiation has a particularly harmful effect upon materials that are not protected.  Our multiwall polycarbonate comes with a UV protected surface, ensuring long-term optical quality even under UV exposure.
What is the largest size polycarbonate sheet ?
We offer sheets to a maximum size of 3m x 2m.
What is the operating temperature of polycarbonate ?
100 degrees centigrade long term; 130 degrees centigrade short term. Long term typically means between 5,000 and 20,000 hours operating at this temperature without losing more than 50% of its performance. Short term typically means upto 2 hours at any one time.
What’s the difference between polycarbonate and acrylic ?
They main difference is strength.  Polycarbonate is much stronger (about 30 times stronger) than acrylic. Polycarbonate is virtually unbreakable whereas acrylic can shatter. There are other differences which you can read on our data sheets here for polycarbonate and here for acrylic.
Why is polycarbonate good for greenhouse glazing ?

Our polycarbonate is 200x stronger than glass yet half its weight. This makes the material a superb, easy-to-use choice for replacing broken or existing greenhouse glass panels. We think it beats glass panels hands down - but don't take our word for it.
