Number of Holes

Please enter how many holes you would like drilling.

Location - If you order standard holes we will drill 5mm holes centred 25mm from the edges in each corner or evenly spaced (depending on how many you order) unless you tell us otherwise.  For panels 150mm wide or less the holes will be centred 15mm from the edge of the material unless you tell us otherwise. To avoid compromising the material, holes cannot be centred any closer to the edge than 15mm. If you order less than four holes please tell us where you would like them drilled.

Size -  we drill holes to a maximum diameter of 20mm. If you need anything above this size please order it as as 'Cut-Out'.

Giving Us Instructions - you can specify your hole diameter and location as you checkout. Please provide your instructions in our 'Special Comments’ box which you will see before you pay for your order.

Alternatively, if you have a drawing you can upload it and attach it with your order.

That’s it. If we have any question’s we’ll be in touch. Thanks.

Nylon Sheets

A primary engineering material, suitable for virtually any plain bearing application this unmodified grade, Nylon 6 sheets have similar characteristics to Nylon 66 sheets but with significantly lower stress levels combined with high strength, good creep and wear resistance, heat ageing properties and machinability. The Black sheets offer great dimensional accuracy when machining, improved sliding properties, wear resistance, lower surface friction and enhanced UV resistance over natural.
Natural & Black Nylon 6 has a plus tolerance of +0.5mm - + 2.5mm.
We cut our nylon sheets to the exact size you need.  Simply enter your measurements above. You can inform us of any requests you may have in the Special Comments box at the checkout. If you have other special requirements please see below.

How To Order Your Cut To Size or Shape Nylon

  • We cut our nylon sheets to the exact size you need.  Simply enter your measurements in our Quote Calculator above.
  • We also cut our nylon sheets to shape. Access this service via the Cut To Shape tab which you'll find at the top of our Quote Calculator.
  • If you'd like to send us a drawing of your requirements you can also upload it using our Quote Calculator.  It will arrive with our team once you have placed your order through our checkout.
  • Something else to tell us ?  If you have any other special comments, you can let us know in the Comments box as you checkout.

Does nylon have good wear resistance?
Nylon 6 and 66 are classed as high wear resistant plastics, as are:
•    Acetal
•    Delrin
•    Oilon
•    HDPE
•    Polypropylene
•    Polyurethane
•    PEEK
•    RG1000
•    Whale Tufnol
•    UHMWPE
•    PET

Does nylon offer high chemical resistance?
Nylon is not considered good for chemical resistance.  The following plastics are:
•    Acetal
•    HDPE
•    Polypropylene
•    PTFE
•    PEEK
•    PVC
•    RG1000
•    UHMWPE

Is nylon considered easy to machine?
Nylon is generally considered as easy to machine  as are:
•    Acetal
•    Delrin
•    Oilon
•    HDPE
•    PEEK
•    PVC
•    RG1000
•    Tufnol
•    UHMWPE

Is nylon easy or difficult to bond?
Nylon is considered easy bond. The following plastics are also considered easy to bond:
•    Nylon 6
•    Nylon 6.6
•    PEEK
•    PVC
•    Polyurethane
•    Tufnol
•    Acrylic
•    Polycarbonate
•    ABS

These plastics are considered difficult to bond:
•    Acetal
•    Delrin
•    Oilon
•    HDPE
•    Polypropylene
•    PTFE
•    RG1000
•    UHMWPE
•    PVDF

What are the differences between Nylon 6 and Nylon 6.6?
Nylon 6.6 has a 6% higher operating temperature, is 13% harder, 10% more rigid and has a tensile strength that is 8% greater. Nylon 6 on the other hand has a greater size range but the main difference is it can be around 30% cheaper

What is the operating temperatures of nylon 6?
100 degrees centigrade long term; 160 degrees centigrade short term. Long term typically means between 5,000 and 20,000 hours operating at this temperature without losing more than 50% of its performance. Short term typically means upto 2 hours at any one time.
