Polycarbonate Greenhouse Panels (Special Shapes) - Cut To Size

Choose superstrong polycarbonate panels for greenhouses here at The Plastic People and create a virtually indestructible greenhouse. If you are trying to choose between greenhouse glass or greenhouse plastic (polycarbonate), then make sure to consider that the panels that we have available are lighter than glass yet 250 x stronger. Our transparent plastic for greenhouse panels comes in both cut-to-size and standard sizes, to suit all requirements. A polycarbonate greenhouse can fullfil the functions of a traditional glass greenhouse without the fragility or weight.

We also offer a cut to shape service which you can access here. We offer 20 popular greenhouse glass shapes. If the shape you require for your poly greenhouse is not there, please email us and we will reply with a quote for you.

Rest assured that as well as our polycarbonate sheets for greenhouses being 250 x stronger than glass, they are also half the weight and so are a superb choice as replacement greenhouse panels for broken or existing glass panels.

Polycarbonate is much stronger than other alternatives, so you can be confident that once you have installed your greenhouse polycarbonate panels, you won't need to replace them anytime soon.

When selecting your polycarbonate greenhouse sheets we recommend a minimum gauge of 3mm for adequate rigidity. This is because some customers have told us 2mm thick polycarbonate can be 'too bendy' particularly on larger panel sizes.

How do I fit replacement polycarbonate greenhouse sheets?

If your replacement greenhouse panels are the same size and thickness as your original panels you should be able to fit them in exactly the same way. On wooden frames you can even drill and screw polycarbonate on, it won’t break.

If you prefer, we can drill any holes for you, just let us know how many you'd like (we generally recommend a hole every 300mm) by completing the optional extras section when you place your order.

Protective Films

All plastic sheet products will have a Clear, Blue or White protective film on both sides or a combination of all three. This is to protect during transit and needs removing before usage. Sometimes it can be difficult to peel off but use a thumbnail gently on any corner to lift and peel. Alternatively gently wet any corner with a cloth to separate film and peel.

Adhesives & Sealants

When using any adhesives or sealants with your plastic sheet product great care must be taken in ensuring its compatibility. Some products can react adversely and either not bond/seal properly or would cause the acrylic to cloud or become white at the bond line. Refer to our web pages for advice if unsure. Check your sealant/adhesives ‘use by date’ to ensure its still current for best performance in your project.
