WISA Spruce Plywood

WISA-Spruce is a truly versatile plywood panel suitable for a wide range of applications. This is a softwood plywood that is lightweight yet strong and rigid. This plywood is superior to other softwood plywood, such as Elliotis plywood. This plywood is a great economical and lightweight alternative to solid wood. We offer WISA spruce plywood in a range of sizes and thicknesses, which can be cut to size according to your needs and delivered straight to your door.

Spruce Plywood applications

Spruce plywood can be used for roof, walls, and floors. It can also be used for packaging, to create concrete forms, joinery, and more. Like other plywood, spruce plywood provides a smooth surface for painting or laminates. If you are going to paint your plywood, just remember that plywood to absorb a lot of paint. So it’s important to use a suitable primer or sealant to ensure a smooth and professional finish to your DIY project.

Spruce Plywood thicknesses

We provide spruce plywood in a range of thicknesses, from 9mm to 18mm. When choosing which thickness to use in your project, consider how it will be used and whether or not it needs to bear weight. Thickness available: 9mm, 12mm, 18mm.

If you aren’t sure which thickness is best for you, please get in touch and we will be able to provide some guidance.

Spruce Plywood cut to any size or shape

We offer custom cutting for your spruce plywood sheets to save you the hassle of doing it yourself. We can cut your sheets to any size or shape. We can also do custom cutouts, so that when your plywood is delivered to your door you’ll be ready to get started right away.

Birch vs Spruce Plywood

Both birch and spruce are popular materials for making plywood. The main difference between these two options is that spruce is a softwood and birch is a hardwood. Softwoods tend to be cheaper, lighter, and slightly less durable than hardwood. This is true with spruce plywood, which is lighter and more economical than birch plywood.

Birch plywood may also have fewer knots than spruce. If you need help deciding which plywood would be best for your project, please get in touch with a member of our team, who will be able to answer your questions and provide some expert advice.

Storage

Whilst every effort is made to ensure your wood products arrive in pristine condition care must be taken on delivery to ensure your products are not damaged and to keep them wrapped until needed in a cool, dry place. We sell MDF, Plywood and OSB which have varying degree of manufacturing treatments including flame and moisture resistance. Whilst these products are resilient, they mustn’t be stored or used outside as the elements would delaminate and perish your item especially if they get wet or affected by frost. Some treated wood products are water resistant, not waterproof.

Adhesives & Sealants

When using any adhesives or sealants with your wood sheet product great care must be taken in ensuring its compatibility. Some products can react adversely and either not bond/seal properly or create a poor finish which isn’t good if its going to be visible. Refer to our web pages for advice if unsure. Check your sealant/adhesives ‘use by date’ to ensure its still current for best performance in your project.

Delivery Damages

You have 14 days from receiving your order to report any visible damages. Please email a photograph of the damage along with your order number and contact details as soon as possible to service@theplasticpeople.co.uk. We'll arrange a refund or replacement for you as soon as we receive this. Please keep your packaging and do not use the damaged goods, so they can be collected and returned to us if necessary.
