Clear furniture & table top protectors cut to size
We make our table protectors from Clear as Glass Acrylic to your measurements. We cut our Clear as Glass Acrylic to the size you need so they cover your table or furniture perfectly. Our Acrylic table protectors look like glass yet are 10 x stronger so make an excellent and safer alternative to glass tops. They make great plastic covers for tables or a dressing table protector or clear coffee table protector. You can even use them as a plastic tablecloth cover so you can display your decorative covers without worrying about spills. A Perspex table protector is incredibly effective at protecting delicate surfaces from spills, drink rings, scratches, and sticky fingers.
Fitting your acrylic table top:
We will supply your table protector cut to size, so they are ready to simply cover your chosen piece of furniture. Rubber Stops on your Perspex table protector for a more secure finish or if you are concerned about possible slippage. Choose a pack from our menu above. Our packs contain 20 Rubber Stops sized 11mm x 2mm each. They are made of clear polyurethane coated with a powerful pressure sensitive adhesive to the back. In practice we have found that using a Rubber Stop every 300mm to 500mm is extremely effective in stopping the furniture protector from moving about when in use.
Maintenance for your Perspex table protector:
Use warm water with a small amount of mild detergent and a soft cotton cloth to clean acrylic. Alternatively we're very impressed with the results from acrylic cleaner VuPlex which polishes acrylic to a high shine in seconds. Can you make table protectors in unusual shapes and sizes?
Yes. We can make table protectors in all shapes and sizes. You can upload a drawing showing your design and sizes in our Ordering ‘Cut To Shape’ Calculator above. If you are happy with your displayed price, simply ‘add to basket’ to complete your order. Your drawing will accompany your order to us. If we have any questions, we will be in touch.
How can I clean acrylic?
We suggest simply using warm soapy water and a soft cotton cloth. Any chemical cleaner should be avoided as it is likely to damage the acrylic. If you would like to use a cleaning product we suggest our specialist acrylic cleaner and polish, VuPlex.
How strong are table protectors?
Table protectors are made from acrylic which is 17x stronger than glass (and half its weight). So, they are pretty strong! If the table protector was dropped it would not break into tiny sharp shards like glass. It is unlikely to break but if it did then the break would be into two or three big pieces which are easier to tidy up.
Acrylic is more flexible than glass so the table protector cannot be used as a tabletop on its own—it would bend. The table protector is designed to cover and protect the surfaces of your furniture.
Is acrylic better than glass?
Acrylic is 17x stronger than glass and about half the weight of glass.
This means it is physically easier to lift, hang, carry or transport around and safer at the same time too. Should acrylic be dropped, it is much less likely to break. If it does break, it will not shatter in the same way as glass. It would not break into tiny sharp shards but into a couple of large, easy-to-pick-up pieces. This makes it ideal for situations where safety is paramount.
Acrylic is also clearer than glass and actually transmits more light than glass.
Is acrylic heat resistant?
Acrylic is heat resistant up to 70 degrees.
What are table protectors made from?

We offer three delivery options, Standard (from £9.96), Next Day (from £24.00) and Named Day (from £33.00). Delivery options will be dependent on material availability, lead-time and geographic location.
When ordering, an estimated delivery date will be offered before payment. Depending on material, any fabrication work needed (polished edges, drilled holes, rounded corners) and geographic location; you'll have the opportunity to choose a delivery option to suit you at checkout. You can even collect in-person.

Yes. When proceeding to check-out you'll have the option of collection, we are based in Leeds (LS9 0DX). Our Collection Point is open from 8.00am until 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am until 3.00pm on Fridays. We are closed on weekends and bank holidays. We'll email you when your order is ready to collect.
Protective Films
All plastic sheet products will have a Clear, Blue or White protective film on both sides or a combination of all three. This is to protect during transit and needs removing before usage. Sometimes it can be difficult to peel off but use a thumbnail gently on any corner to lift and peel. Alternatively gently wet any corner with a cloth to separate film and peel.
Adhesives & Sealants
When using any adhesives or sealants with your plastic sheet product great care must be taken in ensuring its compatibility. Some products can react adversely and either not bond/seal properly or would cause the acrylic to cloud or become white at the bond line. Refer to our web pages for advice if unsure. Check your sealant/adhesives ‘use by date’ to ensure its still current for best performance in your project.
Delivery Damages
You have 14 days from receiving your order to report any visible damages. Please email a photograph of the damage along with your order number and contact details as soon as possible to service@theplasticpeople.co.uk. We'll arrange a refund or replacement for you as soon as we receive this. Please keep your packaging and do not use the damaged goods, so they can be collected and returned to us if necessary.
