Acrylic Greenhouse Window Panels - Cut To Size Perspex Greenhouse Glass
Choose clear Perspex greenhouse panels here at The Plastic People to replace your damaged or broken greenhouse glass panels.
The acrylic greenhouse panels that we have available are lighter than glass and much stronger.
The Perspex sheets for greenhouses come in both cut-to-size and standard sizes, to suit all requirements.
Why Choose Acrylic Perspex for Greenhouses?
- Safer than glass - if it does break, it will not shatter.
- Lighter than glass - 50% lighter than glass.
- Stronger than glass - 10X the impact resistance of glass.
- Cheaper than glass.
- Has great UV and weather resistance.
Rest assured that as well as our Perspex sheets for greenhouses being stronger than glass, they are also lighter and much cheaper and so are a superb choice to replace broken or existing glass panels.
When selecting your replacement acrylic greenhouse windows we recommend a minimum gauge of 3mm for adequate rigidity. This is because some customers have told us 2mm thick Perspex greenhouse panels can be 'too bendy' particularly on larger panel sizes.
Our extruded acrylic, from Perspex, has excellent UV stability and is durable even in the worst UK weather conditions.
We also supply:
- Acrylic Cut to Size Greenhouse Panels.
- Polycarbonate Cut to Size Greenhouse Panels.
- Polycarbonate Standard Sized Greenhouse Panels.
- Polycarbonate Special Shaped Greenhouse Panels.
How To Order
- Simply enter the measurements of your panels into our Cut To Size Quote Calculator above.
- If you'd like to send us a drawing of your requirements with your order you can upload it using our Quote Calculator above. It will arrive with our team once your order has been completed.
That's it. If we have any questions about your order we will be in touch.
How do I fit replacement greenhouse windows?
If your replacement panels are the same size and thickness as your original panels you should be able to fit them in exactly the same way. On wooden frames you can even drill and screw acrylic on.
How to Drill Acrylic
If you prefer, we can drill any holes for you, just let us know how many you'd like (we generally recommend a hole every 300mm) by completing the optional extras section when you place your order.

What are the advantages of acrylic over glass?
- Clarity: Acrylic lets through 92% of visible light compared to 80–90% for glass.
- Less reflection: Glass reflects more light than acrylic. Thicker glass also shows more discolouration, while clear acrylic remains clear regardless of thickness.
- Repairability: Scratches in acrylic can be polished out, whereas scratched glass cannot be repaired.
- Safety: Acrylic does not shatter into sharp shards like glass. Instead, it breaks into large pieces with relatively blunt edges.
- Scratch resistance: Acrylic scratches more easily than glass, but surface scratches can be polished out. Scratched glass usually needs replacing.
- Insulation: Acrylic is around 20% more efficient than glass in reducing temperature flux, meaning outside temperatures penetrate less easily.

Protective Films
All plastic sheet products will have a Clear, Blue or White protective film on both sides or a combination of all three. This is to protect during transit and needs removing before usage. Sometimes it can be difficult to peel off but use a thumbnail gently on any corner to lift and peel. Alternatively gently wet any corner with a cloth to separate film and peel.
Adhesives & Sealants
When using any adhesives or sealants with your plastic sheet product great care must be taken in ensuring its compatibility. Some products can react adversely and either not bond/seal properly or would cause the acrylic to cloud or become white at the bond line. Refer to our web pages for advice if unsure. Check your sealant/adhesives ‘use by date’ to ensure its still current for best performance in your project.
Delivery Damages
You have 14 days from receiving your order to report any visible damages. Please email a photograph of the damage along with your order number and contact details as soon as possible to service@theplasticpeople.co.uk. We'll arrange a refund or replacement for you as soon as we receive this. Please keep your packaging and do not use the damaged goods, so they can be collected and returned to us if necessary.
