Clear acrylic is a great material for furniture protectors as not only is it lightweight and hard wearing but with its fabulous clarity you will be able to protect your furniture whilst still being able to see the beauty of the wood. When choosing a thickness for a furniture protector the most popular tends to be 4mm. 4mm acrylic is the same thickness as standard toughened glass but at around half the weight and a third of the price, acrylic is a popular and cost-effective option. Another advantage of acrylic over glass is that it is easier to fabricate so rounded corners and unusual shapes are no problem. We're often asked how to best clean acrylic. Please only ever use a soft cotton cloth as manmade fabric such as microfibre can scratch the surface of the acrylic. We recommend cleaning the acrylic with either warm water containing a small amount of a mild washing up liquid or with specialist acrylic cleaning spray VuPlex which can be found in the accessories section of our website.
