Product Description
Nylon 6 offers an optimal combination of mechanical strength, stiffness, toughness, mechanical damping properties and wear resistance. These properties, together with good electrical insulating ability and a good chemical resistance make Nylon 6 a “general purpose” grade for mechanical construction and maintenance. Nylon 6 can absorb up to 8% water, increasing shock and vibration resistance but leading to dimensional changes. Nylon 6 is commonly used in favour of bronze aluminium and other non-ferrous metals due to the significant weight advantage. The Black Nylon 6 has improved sliding properties, wear resistance, lower surface friction and enhanced UV resistance over natural.
